Filofax and Fountain Pens...Love Affair

It seems only natural that these two classic stationery staples should find their way into each other's arms. I have found that my TWSBI Diamond 580 with F nib goes beautifully and works perfectly with my Filofax Osterly; Louis Vuitton cotton cream diary (an end of the year splurge), ivory Tomoe River note paper, Waterman's Absolute Brown ink...such a lovely marriage...

Addition to My Fountain Pen Collection

I am loving my new fountain pen addition. It took a while to get here, as it arrived from China. The Jinhao Blue Dragon. Man, is this thing heavy! Completely unpostable as the back-weight does not allow for a smooth, controlled hand. Still, a pure joy to hold and behold.

I have since re-inked it with J. Herbin Cafe des Iles

Fountain Pens and Brown Ink

Much has transpired since that last post many moons ago. But right now it's all about the fountain pen. I've sort of fallen headlong down the rabbit hole and I find myself in a whole new world of discovery. It's a wonderful, exciting, and somewhat eccentric world where communication is more than the confines of 140 characters or less; where keeping in touch requires more than a two-thumbed cryptic message; where human contact is strung together with long fluid lines of inky script.

My 'notebook' is a Moleskine planner that I picked up for $2. I'm ignoring the dates; just scrawling right over them as if they didn't exist
This pen is one several I've picked up over the last few weeks. Monteverde Artista Crystal in pink, with an M-nib and a belly full of Pelikan Brilliant Brown ink.
Love my ink journals!

Filofax and ARC Planners

Welcome to my blog. I have attempted this so many times before it's shameful. Basically, I don't have time for it, but I really want to do it. I really just want to blab all day about my obsessions to a few people who may want to listen, as those in my physical circle couldn't care less. My obsessions are planners, planning and organization. A seemingly idiosyncratic thing to obsess over, but there's an entire world of people out there like me. I've been reading Philofaxy for a couple of years now, and there are a few people out there more besieged than I am. I recently gave up my personal size Osterly Filofax and felt a near physical rip in my heart when I emptied its contents and laid it on my desk. So I picked up my Jr size ARC (discbound system from Staples) and that's where I am today. So now I am reading Philofaxy and ArcIt!. I wish there were more ARC vids and blogs out there for me to waste precious time on. Filofax provides hours worth of waste! Anyway, I have vowed that I will not make any major changes to the set-up, nor switch to any other binder at least until the end of the year.

Here are a few introductory pix

The Filofax Osterly.  It is truly a thing of beauty, but I couldn't make it work for me.

The Jr ARC. I love the bright green color; the system is smooth and running well. It's just not as, well, luscious, as the Filofax.

In my next post, I'll discuss my set-up. You can also check out the youtube video at lifeconsidered11 called From Filofax to Arc.
